Omowunmi, the wife of the late Mohbad, has broken her silence on the circumstances surrounding her husband’s death and the challenges she faces in speaking out.
In a series of Instagram stories, she revealed the intimidation tactics used against her, preventing her from sharing what she knows about the singer’s demise.
“They silenced my husband by spreading rumors that he was on drugs,” Omowunmi wrote. “Now they’ve been targeting me by releasing a voice note I recorded a few years ago for medical purposes.” She expressed frustration over the attacks on her family, including labeling their child as illegitimate and casting doubts on Mohbad’s mental state.
Omowunmi detailed Mohbad’s struggles with mental health and his reluctance to speak out against industry pressures. “Mohbad would have sought medical treatment after his injury if he didn’t live in constant fear,” she stated, highlighting his distrust in the medical system.
Despite her desire to speak the truth, Omowunmi lamented being bullied into silence. “I know a lot, but they won’t allow me to speak my truth,” she said. “If they eventually kill me too, just know I said it.”
The issue of paternity also emerged, with Omowunmi addressing rumors and challenges surrounding DNA testing. “There has never been any doubt about Liam’s paternity until my husband’s demise,” she clarified. Omowunmi expressed reluctance to comply with requests for DNA testing, citing concerns about her son’s safety.
As she morns the death of her husband, Omowunmi remains determined to protect her son and seek justice. “Liam is the only precious gift Mohbad left me with,” she declared. “I will protect him until my last breath.”
